Stafford Sporting Events

  |     |   Uncategorized

With football and basketball seasons still weeks away, it can be tough for sports fans to get their fix. Until then, these local sporting events are sure to hold you over for the next month. So grab your friends and family and head out to one of these entertaining sporting events!

Washington Redskins Training Camp

Take a short, summer road trip to Richmond, VA and watch the Washington Redskins in action on August 15 and 16 at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center. Saturday is Fan Appreciation Day so be sure to get some autographs and pose for pictures with the players! Team practices and fan festivities are open to the public all weekend long.

Twilight Polo

Not a football fan? Bring the whole family out for some fast paced Polo fun every Saturday from 6:30-11 PM at the Great Meadow Foundation. The game is up close and personal and a perfect way to spend the day with the family. The little ones can take part in children’s activities like tug-o-war and a two-lap race led by Polo Bear, the arena mascot! Adults can also enjoy a taste of fine wine, as Greenhill Winery will be on site throughout the day. Once the sun goes down, you can dance the night away under the pavilion to music mixed by local DJs.

Potomac Nationals Players Signing

Get into the swing of things this weekend at Lindsay Manassas Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram this Saturday, August 15 from Noon to 2 PM. This event provides a unique opportunity to collect autographs from all your favorite players. You never know, you may just meet the next Washington National! Be sure to chow down while you’re there, too. Hard Times Cafe will be dishing out their world-famous chili dogs and Lindsay Manassas will provide refreshments. Admission is free for this event.

Memorial Golf Tournament

The Memorial Golf Tournament is a good way to work on your swing while contributing to a great cause.  A $95 dollar entry fee gets you 8 holes of golf, greens fees, cart, range balls, practice green access, BBQ lunch buffet and non-alcoholic beverages. The best part: all proceeds go charity! Golf is the ultimate spectator sport, so feel free to view from the lush green sidelines as well. This event will be held on September 11 from 7 AM-2 PM at the Augustine Golf Club.

Adult Softball Homerun Derby

How about some old-fashioned fun on the baseball diamond? On September 12 at Duff McDuff Green Park, each contestant will get 5 outs, with the top batters advancing to the second and final round. Even if you don’t plan on signing up to swing, join the fun and watch the contestants knock it out of the park! Pre-registration is recommended.
