Stafford is expected to receive up to 24 inches of snow and Virginia has declared a state of emergency. Please take all precautionary\/preparedness actions in anticipation of this weekend's weather:<\/span><\/p>\n

• Leave thermostats at 72 degrees<\/u> and let the faucets drip to prevent freezing pipes.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Open cabinets under the sinks to allow for air circulation around the pipes.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Be careful of black ice when walking around the community.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Stay up-to-date with the weather conditions on the web\/tv\/radio.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Driving may be dangerous due to poor visibility. Refrain from traveling.<\/span><\/li>\n
• If you must travel, have a <\/span>winter survival kit<\/span><\/a> in your car.<\/span><\/li>\n
• If you become stranded, stay in your vehicle.<\/span><\/li>\n
• If you plan to be away this weekend, DO NOT TURN OFF THE HEAT and double check that all windows are closed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
