Monticello has been around a long time and is still in very good shape for it’s age. Monticello wants to keep the house and estate open as long as possible in order to educate people about Jefferson. What Jefferson did as president is very important to the workers of Monticello so they want to inform as many people as possible about his presidency. If you live near Quantico, take a day to visit this large estate and learn all about Jefferson.
 
4. Downtown Fredericksburg

Also near Quantico is Fredericksburg. They have many shops, restaurants, and activities to participate in all year long. You can walk in the footsteps of Civil War generals or visit the home place of George Washington and his family. There is a lot of history near Fredericksburg, and it has some of the top-rated golf courses. It is home to many shops and wineries, and they also have something a little bit unusual…ghost tours. Fredericksburg is thought to be one of the most haunted cities due to all the battles that were fought there so take a day to attend a ghost tour and learn a little more about the past. All of this is just a short way away from Quantico.
